Bayreuth becomes a "Fairtrade Town"

Worldwide, 2.000 municipalities in 36 countries are already committed to sustainability and fair trade. In doing so, they are taking on social responsibility and setting an example for their citizens. They are also aligning themselves with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and the 2030 Agenda – including the city of Bayreuth, which was recognized as a "Fairtrade Town" in 2024. Fairtrade Towns specifically and demonstrably promote fair trade at municipal level and a network of stakeholders from civil society, politics and business. Bayreuth also wants to actively promote sustainable consumption and fair trade structures.
